I think it is time for Janet Napolitano to go.

Janet Napolitano

The face of U.S. security, Secretary Janet Napolitano

Preferably back to school or at least forced to watch the news and read up on current events.

She must have raised some serious cash for President Obama because it starting to become painfully obvious to all that have been paying attention that she is woefully unqualified for a position such as U. S. Secretary of Homeland Security. She has experienced recent outrage by many in the country over her department’s release of a Cracker Jack report that cautioned the government and state authorities on the rise of rightwing extremism. The report pointedly highlighted war veterans. A rightful and justified outrage ensued and she has since said the report wasn’t ready for release and should have been scrubbed over for accuracy and with more specificity to its claims. You think?

While that was bad enough she has really delivered the knockout blow to her credibility as one of the chief guarantors of American security. In an interview with CBC, Napolitano stated her case for stricter borders not because of near anarchy in Mexico and rising kidnappings and murders spilling in to U.S. borders states but because  the many “suspected and known terrorists” have entered the U. S. from our northern border with Canada. In particular, she pointed out that the Jihadist that led the 9/11 attacks came from Canada.

Of course, even my grandmother before she died – rest her soul – knew that the hijackers came to the United States from the Middle East. They entered easily without any need to sneak across any border.

Read:  Michelle Malkin: “It was, of course, lax policing at our overseas consulates in Saudi Arabia (hello, Visa Express) that opened the door to the 9/11 jihadis. And it was the failure of interior enforcement that enabled them to stay.”

Hot Air:  ”She doesn’t know immigration law or how the 9/11 hijackers got here, and she can’t manage a report on a topic as sensitive as domestic terrorism without insulting vets, but hey – at least she doesn’t owe back taxes.”

The National Post adds this little nugget.

Informed of her error, Ms. Napolitano blustered: “I can’t talk to that. I can talk about the future. And here’s the future. The future is we have borders.”

Just what does that mean, exactly?

Just a few weeks ago, Ms. Napolitano equated Canada’s border to Mexico’s, suggesting they deserved the same treatment. Mexico is engulfed in a drug war that left more than 5,000 dead last year, and which is spawning a spillover kidnapping epidemic in Arizona. So many Mexicans enter the United States illegally that a multi-billion-dollar barrier has been built from Texas to California to keep them out.

In Canada, on the other hand, the main problem is congestion resulting from cross-border trade. Not quite the same thing, is it?

Well, plenty have seen enough of the train wreck and are calling for Ms. Napolitano resignation.

Conservative reps. want Napolitano outThe Politico

House Republicans are calling on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to step down or be fired in the wake of a controversial department memo that has sparked indignant battle cries from conservatives and some veterans.

“Singling out political opponents for working against the ruling party is precisely the tactic of every tyrannical government from Red China to Venezuela,” said Texas Rep. John Carter, a member of the party’s elected leadership who has organized an hour of floor speeches Wednesday night to call for Napolitano’s ouster. “The first step in the process is creating unfounded public suspicion of political opponents, followed by arresting and jailing any who continue speaking against the regime.”

All who were left scratching their heads when Obama chose this obedient toady to head Homeland Security now can get a handle on it: a serious choice, focused upon real terrorist threats (not imaginary, partisan ones i.e. the TEA parties)- like, say, a Rudolph Giuliani, wouldn’t have been a willing collaborator in a sham report trashing US vets for the President’s political purposes.

Napolitano’s qualification for this job was simply being a liberal Obama sycophant… certainly not any skills, insight, or ability.

Her statements on the Canadian border illustrate how incompetent and puzzled she is- Neopolitano completely lacks the credentials to be in-charge of protecting our country from the likes of Al Qaida.

Trouble is, narcissist Obama needs to be surrounded by mindless drones to confirm his omnipotence and pollyanna world view. But such appointments as Napolitano and Panetta to vital national security posts are a show of weakness that will surely encourage terrorists and myriad other rogue characters who see America as their enemy- no matter how hard Barack tries to schmooze them.

Anyone who expected this president to place the nation’s practical defense interests above those of his own political security and radical agenda hasn’t really looked at how he got this far in the first place.

This woman is a total and complete disaster.
She is certainly not qualified to hold the job to which she has been appointed.
She consistently lies to the American public about homeland security events.
She has no intention of completing the boarder fence.
She is not concerned with the illegal immigration problem.
Why Obama nominated her is beyond comprehension.
She is a total and complete disaster for this job.
    GET RID OF HER.

So I am beginning to wonder if this woman has been an idiot all of her life?

The veterans should hand Napolitano over to
Al Qaida or send her into exile on the Isalnd of
    Patmos.

napolitano the carpert-bagger was garbage as a governor and worse as DHS head.

as governor she obliterated our budget surplus, leaving us in the hole, now.

her agenda was clearly on the side of pro-illegal immigration and did her best to support the phoenix mayor’s sanctuary city policies.

she fights e-verify, real id and the border fence. she eviscerated the maricopa county sheriff ’s budget for his enforcement of illegal alien activities through 287g.

i was both happy and angry when she took the position offered in the fed.

happy because she was out of Az.(i live here)

angry because i did not and do not see her as an improvement over chertoff.

maybe if she gets tossed, it will make a lasting impression on her that she is worthless as a civil servant.

I always thought Janet was just passing through DHS to set up her next job. That will be at an university or foundation or international agency.

e.g. the Kennedy School Of Government or top dog at something like the IMF or the Ford Foundation.

    Something very sweet and permanent.

DHS is a dangerous post. A real screwup or disaster can spell doom for the Secretary.

Knowing that, Janet probably demanded and got an ironclad guarantee of her next gig before taking DHS.

Win-Win for Janet. She faced a budget mess here in AZ. Instantly became a prominent national figure with this very visible job. And nailed down a goody for the rest of her life.

Of course I also think Hillary accepted State to beef up her overseas credentials. In a few years she will be like Bill, drawing huge fees for speaking to, advising, or facilitating the powerful outside the US.

So for a few years we get to pay Hillary’s expenses while she visits powerful people who will be her clients later.

Ms. Albright does the same using her Sec. Of State credentials. But Albright will be last weeks news when Hillary leaves State.

The more I read and learn about this totally inept person, the more I agree that she needs to go.
She it totally unqualified for that job.
She is not interested in keeping the USA safe or she would stop lying and get the fence finished instead of blathering about Iraqi vets.
One would think she would have more important things to do.
